Minimalistic Zen Bamboo Nails

For this nail art, I wanted to create a design that reflected calm, tranquillity and simplicity. And so, I used Lesly’s #31 stamping plate, and SuperChic Lacquer’s muted green, holographic polish to produce these minimalistic bamboo nails.

Step 1

As always, I started by applying my F.U.N Lacquer “Triple 5” base coat to all of my nails.

I then applied two coats of my white creme polish by Color Club to each of my nails and then allowed 20-25 minutes for it to dry.

Step 2

Once the white polish was dry, I applied a coat of liquid latex around my cuticles, to protect the skin from excess polish whilst stamping.

I decided to use SuperChic Lacquer’s “Dirty Laundry” polish from their Spill The Tea collection, to stamp on my nails as the pale muted green is perfect for the zen design, and also because due to its high pigmentation, makes this holographic polish great for stamping with.

On the forefinger and pinky fingernail, I stamped on the bamboo design from Lesly’s #31 stamping plate that is circled in white below. On the middle fingernail and thumbnail, I stamped on the bamboo design that is circled in green.

Step 3

On the feature nail, I stamped the bamboo design shown below, circled in dark green. This design was reversed so that you are stamping the background, rather than the bamboo itself. I chose this for the feature nail so that the bamboo would be white and the background would be green (the opposite of the rest of the nails).

I made sure that I added extra polish to the stamping plate before using the scraper when stamping this design. Since there was a larger area that needs to be covered, I didn’t want any parts of the stamp to be patchy.

Step 4

I sealed in the design with my non-smear, glossy stamping polish by MoYou London and allowed further time for my nails to dry.

These zen nails are perfect if you want to de-stress over the busy Christmas period; to help you overcome those January blues, or simply just to help you relax.

This is the finished result:
